Instagram for Business and Creator accounts
Instagram is one of SignalDeck's four launch lanes. Business and Creator accounts linked through Meta can publish single JPEG images and image carousels of 2 to 10 photos, each approved as an exact version and receipted from the media ID Instagram returns. Video, Reels, Stories, and first comments are not available, and personal accounts cannot be connected.

What SignalDeck does on Instagram.
Image posts and carousels
One JPEG image up to 8 MB, or a carousel of 2 to 10 JPEG images in the order you approved. Captions run up to 2,200 characters.
Alt text that survives
Alt text on each image travels with it to Instagram, so the accessibility text a reviewer approved is the text that is published.
Approval on the exact version
Clients and reviewers approve the caption and image order as a numbered version. Editing the post means approving it again.
Receipts from Instagram
A post is published only when Instagram returns a media ID. The permalink is read back from Instagram rather than built by SignalDeck.
Post metrics
Likes, comments, views, saves, and shares are read from Instagram insights for published posts. Anything Instagram does not return is shown as unknown.
Publishing cap respected
Instagram limits how many posts an account can publish in a rolling 24-hour period. Hitting that cap makes SignalDeck back off rather than retry in a loop.

Connecting an account
How a Instagram account is connected.
Connections run through Composio managed OAuth. SignalDeck never asks for a social password, and an account cannot receive scheduled posts until an owner or admin confirms the identity the provider returned.
Start from the workspace
An owner or admin starts the connection from the workspace the account belongs to. The signed attempt expires after 15 minutes.
Authorize with the provider
You sign in with the provider through Composio and grant the requested permissions.
Identity readback
SignalDeck reads the account's user info from Instagram and stores the returned account ID and username as the destination identity.
Confirm
An owner or admin confirms the identity. Only then is the destination verified and able to receive scheduled posts.

Video and Reels
Not available. Video needs container-readiness polling that has not been verified, so video posts are refused.
First comments
Not supported. Put hashtags and links in the caption.
Stories and text-only posts
Not supported. Every Instagram post needs at least one image.
PNG, WebP, and GIF
Not accepted. Images must be JPEG.
