YouTube Shorts and video uploads
YouTube is a SignalDeck launch lane for Shorts and regular videos. Each post is one video with a required title, an explicit privacy setting, and a category, approved as an exact version and receipted from the video ID YouTube returns. YouTube decides what is shown as a Short. Community posts are not supported, and YouTube metrics are not reported yet.
YouTube in SignalDeck
What SignalDeck does on YouTube.
One video per post
MP4, MOV, or WebM. The same upload serves Shorts and regular videos.
Title, description, category
A title of up to 100 characters is required, descriptions run up to 5,000 characters, and a category ID is set on every upload.
Explicit privacy
Public, unlisted, or private is set on every upload, so nothing goes public by default.
Receipts with the video ID
The receipt stores the video ID and watch URL. Processing and privacy are looked up afterwards.
Quota errors back off
YouTube quota and rate-limit errors make the worker back off instead of looping failed uploads.
Shorts
How Shorts work through SignalDeck.
There is no separate Shorts switch. SignalDeck uploads the vertical video you approved, and YouTube classifies it. The approval, privacy setting, and receipt are the same as for any other upload.
Connecting an account
How a YouTube account is connected.
Connections run through Composio managed OAuth. SignalDeck never asks for a social password, and an account cannot receive scheduled posts until an owner or admin confirms the identity the provider returned.
Start from the workspace
An owner or admin starts the connection from the workspace the account belongs to. The signed attempt expires after 15 minutes.
Authorize with the provider
You sign in with the provider through Composio and grant the requested permissions.
Identity readback
SignalDeck lists the login's own channel and stores the channel ID and title as the destination identity. The connection must grant the YouTube upload scope.
Confirm
An owner or admin confirms the identity. Only then is the destination verified and able to receive scheduled posts.
