YouTube Shorts scheduler
Schedule YouTube Shorts and regular videos to a YouTube channel through Composio. Each upload is approved as an exact version with an explicit privacy setting, title, and category, and the receipt stores the video ID and watch URL YouTube returns. YouTube decides what is shown as a Short; SignalDeck uploads the video you approved.
YouTube lane
What the YouTube lane does today.
Shorts and long-form uploads
One video per post, in MP4, MOV, or WebM. The same upload path serves Shorts and regular videos.
Title and description limits
Titles up to 100 characters and descriptions up to 5,000 characters, checked before anything is sent. A title is required.
Explicit privacy and category
Every upload carries an explicit privacy setting (public, unlisted, or private) and a YouTube category ID. Tags are optional.
Upload, processing, visibility tracked separately
The upload response gives the video ID. Processing state and privacy are looked up afterwards, so an uploaded video is not mistaken for a public one.
Quota-aware
YouTube quota and rate-limit errors are read as backoff signals, so a quota problem holds the post instead of looping failed uploads.
Receipt with the video ID
The receipt stores the video ID and its watch URL. If YouTube returns no ID, the attempt is marked uncertain and reconciled.
Formats and limits
Supported formats and limits for YouTube.
Limits come from the lane's capability record and are checked before anything is sent to YouTube.
Video
Supported. Exactly one video per post: MP4, MOV, or WebM.
Shorts
Supported through the same upload. YouTube classifies the video; SignalDeck does not force a Shorts label.
Title
Required. Up to 100 characters.
Description
Up to 5,000 characters.
Privacy
Required on every upload: public, unlisted, or private.
Category and tags
Category ID required; tags optional.
Community posts, images, and text-only posts
Not supported.
Metrics
Not available yet. No verified metrics action is wired for this lane, so YouTube metrics are shown as unavailable.
Scheduling, approval, receipt
How a YouTube post goes from draft to receipt.
Every scheduled post moves through the same publication ledger. Each step is a stored record, so the calendar shows what actually happened rather than what was planned.
Content version
The copy, media order, and destination options are frozen into a numbered content version. Editing the post creates a new version, and approvals for the old one no longer count.
Destination approval
An approver signs off on that exact version for this YouTube destination, optionally inside a time window. Scheduling outside the window needs reapproval.
Delivery intent
Scheduling creates a delivery intent. It is refused if there is no current approval, the destination's identity is not verified, or the destination is held.
Publish attempt
A worker claims the intent, validates the payload against the lane's capability record, prepares media in the documented order, and records each attempt and its events.
Verified receipt
A post is marked published when YouTube returns the video ID. The receipt stores the ID and watch URL, and later status reads report processing and privacy.
Uncertain writes are reconciled
If a request times out after dispatch, the attempt is marked uncertain and reconciled by looking the post up. It is never blindly retried, and a manual retry is refused while any attempt is unresolved.
Pause per destination
Publishing can be paused for one destination, a campaign, a tenant, or everything. Resuming requires an admin and a recorded reason.
Connection and account verification
Connect YouTube and confirm it is the right account.
Connections go through Composio managed OAuth. An authenticated connection is only the first step; SignalDeck reads the account back from the provider before anything is scheduled.
Owner or admin connects
Only roles with connection management can start a connection. The flow is signed and expires, so a stale link cannot attach an account later.
Identity readback
SignalDeck lists the connected login's own channel and stores the channel ID and title as the destination identity. The connection must grant the YouTube upload scope.
Explicit confirmation
An owner or admin reviews the identity the provider returned and confirms it. Until then the destination is not verified and nothing can be scheduled to it.
Wrong-account holds
If a reconnect returns a different account, confirming it requires an owner or admin, and every scheduled post for that destination is held for re-review instead of going to the new account.
One tenant per account
A connected account already registered to another tenant is rejected, so one provider account cannot quietly feed two organizations.

FAQ
Frequently asked
How does SignalDeck make a video a Short?
It uploads the video you approved. YouTube decides whether it is shown as a Short; there is no separate Shorts setting that SignalDeck controls.
Which video formats are accepted?
MP4, MOV, and WebM, with exactly one video per post.
What are the title and description limits?
Titles up to 100 characters, descriptions up to 5,000. A title is required.
Can I upload as unlisted or private?
Yes. Privacy is set explicitly on every upload: public, unlisted, or private.
Are YouTube Community posts supported?
No. The lane publishes videos only.
Will I see YouTube views in reports?
Not yet. There is no verified metrics action for this lane, so views are shown as unavailable rather than estimated.
